Jorge Lorenzo, Repsol Honda Team rider

“There are four important days in a driver's career: the first is when you make your debut, the second is when you win your first race, the third is when you win the world championship, not everyone succeeds but I and many others have done it, and the fourth is when you announce your retirement. After 9 years in Yamaha, probably the best years of my career, I felt the need for a change to find my motivation, choosing to move first to Ducati and then to Honda as an official rider."

Carmelo Ezpeleta, Chief Executive Officer Dorna Sports

“Today is a very special day. When I saw Jorge for the first time, he wasn't a kid like the others. I remember well everything we shared. The only word that comes to mind is thank you, especially for creating value for our World Cup. Knowing him I know that he is happy now, even if it is a difficult day for all of us. He has been an incredible rider all these years and I am happy to announce that Jorge Lorenzo will be a MotoGP Legend.”
