Sepang was the scene of the presentation of the 2020 Suzuki GSX-RR. The Japanese team unveiled the bike with which Alex Rins and Joan Mir will race this season.

Fourth in the 2019 championship standings, achieving eleven top 5 places, including two excellent victories, Álex Rins has ranked among the best riders in MotoGP. He is ready to attack this new season with the aim of building on his results and adding more trophies.

Joan Mir completed a notable rookie season with Team Suzuki Ecstar in 2019, which included a total of ten top 10 finishes, with a fifth place in the Australian GP as his best result. He is confident of moving up another notch during 2020 thanks to the experience gained with the GSX-RR in the elite class.

“The 2019 season was important for us because we showed consistent growth throughout the year, and I believe that is the right path to success.

Of course this will be a special year for Suzuki, as it is their 60th in racing. This is why we feel even more motivated to do well in front of our entire company and our fans.

Our engineers in Japan worked on many elements and small details, besides the engine, over the winter, trying to improve our good product.

The drivers are ready and excited, which is why I believe that our objective must be to increasingly improve the team's performance with both drivers. Alex Rins got two wins, which was our goal before the season, and then another podium. We learned a lot and this was another important step for us and for the team. We are also very happy with Joan Mir, because he has shown constant growth and overcame a major injury suffered in Brno to finish the season with some very solid races. Not only were the results exceptional, but also the entire approach to the race weekend and the working methodology. On both sides we can take excellent lessons from 2019 towards 2020.”
